Good Gastropub with a cool decor that is inviting and comfortable. Interesting upstairs dinning that provides a lighter than expected space. Only negative is the lack of outdoor space. Service was efficient and friendly but they weren't particularly busy on the Tueday Lunchtime we visited. Food is well presented and good quality ingredients. 3 course Lunch and wine for 2 £60 - Great Value We'll definitely be back.Report this
A much needed ace pub

In terms of places to live in London, West London, up to about Hammersmith is (in my opinion) pretty much the best place you can hope to hang your hat. However, the armpit of this particular 'burb is the bit behind Charing Cross hospital and Queens Tennis Club. In fact, wherever you go, it's always described as 'behind' somewhere. Tells you all you need to know, really. Anyway, living near here and in dire need of a decent pub, imagine my excitement when I noticed this shiny beacon of loveliness sitting on Greyhound Road. For a start, it meant I didn't have to walk down to the Puzzle if I wanted to watch the rugby. So it wouldn't take much to please me. But, the Queens Arms far exceeded my expectations. Top beers on tap, a great wine list, plenty of places to sit and a good (if pricey) bar menu. If you're in the mood for some slightly over the top food, upstairs they have a really quite good restaurant, too. My one criticism of the place is that I can't quite reconcile the area, the pub and the restaurant. It just doesn't seem to work somehow. That's why I've dropped a star. Make the whole thing work together and I'm sold - I'm already in here whenever I can anyway. And the best thing is... you can watch an England game in there with relative impunity. The antipodeans seem to all get sucked into the Puzzle for some reason.Report this
