Maidenhead's Most Characteristic Watering Hole
25/10/2010 by Spiddly
If you're fed up with spotty Lynx drenched shirt boys and screeching short skirted harpies on a night out, this place will come as a welcome relief. Landlord Tommy Murphy has restored one of Maidenhead's most characteristic watering holes to its former glory. With an extensive juke box and spacious beer garden, along with open mic nights and the annual Hobfest, the venue is once again earning its reputation as a magnet for creative types.Report this
Good for Ales
04/09/2008 by nbw1
The Hobgoblin has to take the award for Maidenhead’s slowest serving pub for both food and drink. Drink prices too are quite expensive considering how many other pubs are nearby and lack of customer service inside from bar staff. Food too isn’t the best in terms of quality and quantity. On a Thursday night the place is usually packed although there is no normally no more than two people behind the bar. Regulars appear to be between the ages of 18 and 25 with the music to accommodate to their young trendy tastes. On the plus, there is a good selection of AlesReport this
Good value, but slow service
13/10/2007 by t0m
We ate here one lunch time. The food was definitely good value (they mean it when they say the portions are large!), however the food took forever to arrive. They don't get many diners at lunch time, and there is a good reason! Nobody has that much time.Report this
