Franco's Restaurant is set inside Carlisle's only medieval building of the guildhall, built in 1407.
Franco's offers a range of authentic Italian cuisine set in a relaxed and comfortable enviroment surrounded by the venetian art work on the walls by the artist Terry Moore, making it a perfect place for parties, working lunches, families and couples. At Franco's we have something for everyone on the menu, traditional pizza and pasta to chicken, veal, steak, as well as fresh fish dishes. We also have vegeterian options, and a children's menu. We also offer lighter options with our piattini menu, small Italian style tapas dishes which start at £2.95.

we have been waiting years for this. I wasnt sure when we saw the signs go up 4.95 for three courses? thought it was going to be poor quality. Not at all it was brilliant, great pizzas and I wouldnt normally eat potato skins but they were lovely, but those pizza wow. The staff were friendly but a bit bewildered, well it was the first day of opening. It was quiet but the place has a really good feel to it. Will go back soon on an evening when it is busyer and im sure the place will be buzzing. highly recommend. Cant wait to try the steaks and fish on the normal menu.Report this
Awaful food at Francos

Food is an absolute joke. Ordered a Bruscetta which is an Italian dish, the bread must have been initially toasted and then re-heated in the microware oven. My main course (sirloin steak) was "quantity not quality" and the meat was not seasoned (although the meat was good quality and cooked correctly to my order) the pasta my girlfriend had was way over cooked and it became one piece as it cooled down. It was like eating Italian in China, if not worse. The most expensive £30 I 've ever spent.Report this
Friendly, popular Italian place

In the historic guildhall. A cheerful, fun place popular with families. Pizza and salads are both top class. Special bargain menu available lunchtime and early evening. Can get very crowded so always book for evening meals at weekends. Try the Franco's special pizza or the veal dishes both of which are a delight. The House Red, in one or half litre caraffes, goes well with the pizza or pasta and is recommended.Report this
