Awful, don't go!!

I booked in for gel nails (toes) and bikini hot wax. When I tried to book a deposit had to benefit by PayPal, 3 days later got a fairly abrupt email asking if I still wanted the appointment as I hadn't paid the deposit, but I had!! When I got there the staff were all standing behind reception bitching about a customer who had paid her deposit but hadn't turned up. Then I sat in reception to have my gel nails done as the girl didn't realise it wasn't on my hands and there were no rooms free, so I had to take off my tights and sit with my foot up on the desk, trying desperately to maintain my dignity as I had a skirt on! People kept coming in and out including who I presume was the girl at receptions boyfriend so as well as embarrassing it was freezing. I then was taken into a room for my bikini wax - had to point out it was hot wax as the girl tried to start using strips. After she removed a few bits if wax, I was lying there wondering if she knew what she was doing, when she proceeded to tell me that this was really only the first full wax she'd done on her own and that she didn't know how anyone could stand it as it's so painful and that whilst training she had a few people gave a bit find then refuse to go any further! Quite frankly I'm not surprised, I've been having regular Brazilian hot waxes for years and I've never felt more than a mild sting until I came here, it was with without a doubt the most painful experience I've ever had, so much so that it took 45 mins (???!?!?!!) and I was literally soaking with sweat afterwards and I was bleeding a bit and quite bruised Shen j got home. She kept asking 'is this how they do this bit where you normally go?' And I kept having to tell her what positions I should be in and when to stretch the skin etc. why on earth I didn't get up when I realised she was clueless I don't know, I'm over-polite I think! Needless to say I will never ever go back and would strongly advise against visiting this salon. I've given it one star as it wouldn't let me leave it at zero.Report this

Fell for the advertisement for a £12 massage... First of all I am a massage therapist and thought this is too good to be true so arrived for my appointment at 12.15 (appointment wasnt untill 12.30... the therapist came for me at 12.35 and showed me to the room asked me to get undressed without any means of a consultation she came back about 2 minutes and done a 19 MINUTE massage which you could tell she was still in training and used the worst massage technique, no pressure was used even when I asked for more and she talked to me during the whole massage which wasnt relaxing! so paying £12 for a 19 minute massage was the worst experience of my life! They need proper experienced therapistsReport this

I paid £450 for dermal fillers at the end of June 2013, within 2 weeks I had to go back as I had a large swelling under 1 eye, I was told I looked worse and to take antihistamines. This didnt help and the swelling got worse. Through whatclinic I went to see a Doctor and had to travel to Edinburgh to get hyalase injected twice to get rid of the swelling, after a horrible 9 weeks. As a result of the Doctors involvement Dollface agreed to pay for the hyalase at the Edinburgh clinic, they did it for £50 because of the circumstances and that I had been left looking unsightely. At no time did anyone from Dollface contact me to find out if the swelling had improved until the Doctor got involved. The Doctor s said the wrong filler was used, the one used at Dollface should not be used near the eye area because of its hydrophillic effect, and as Dollface has no medical training they cant prescribe hyalase to rectify damage when its done. I was offered a free facial from Dollface! I had days when I couldnt go out, and when I did I couldnt look in a mirror. I am considering further action. I cant thank the Doctor enough for helping me as they said the terrible swelling under one eye could have taken up to a year and a half to disappear. Wouldnt recommend.Report this
