I agree with the comments made about the poor customer service you get! i must admit, i do like the vet i see here (Australian guy) great vet! but the reception staff are awful! they are rude and very unhelpful, i'm quite clued up on dogs and had a lady if front of me that had just asked a basic question - instead of just helping her, the girl looked at her like she'd asked for all they money out of the till and gave her such a long winded reply! i know they are busy (sometimes) but i doesn't take anymore time up being polite, i've never had a nice experience in the reception there and i've been going for 7 yrs!Report this

Please be aware of this practice if your animal needs surgery as we took our cat there because he belonged to a neighbour and we took over his care and was told he was registered with this vets. We were told that our cat needed his teeth cleaning and maybe an extraction and would need to have a general anaesthetic to do this. The vet examined our cat and said he had a slight heart murmur but he had not lost a cat yet and it would be fine to go ahead. We booked out cat in for this surgery for the following week and we went home armed with pain killers and antibiotics. Somehow we felt a bit uneasy about this and when we looked at the reviews had good reason so we promptly cancelled the surgery and went to another practice for a second opinion. Boy are we glad as the second vet felt a lump in our cats throat and after blood tests found that he had an overactive thyroid and if surgery went ahead he may not have survived. So if we had let Caven vets do this surgery I think we would have had very bad news. This practice is probably good for run of the mill procedures but not surgery so beware.Report this
Attitude with most staff

I would not recommend this vets at all if you are a new pet owner. Receptionists made it their priority to make me feel like I had no clue. They never asked me if I needed routine things like wormers or flea treatment and when I asked made me feel like I was pestering them when all I needed was a little advise and help. Not in the correct line of work.Report this
