Well worth the detour

Trrying to find somewhere comfortable to have a good Roast Lunch on a Sunday around Brick Lane may be considered a foolish task but trying the Carpenter's Arms is my suggestion. Although it does get very busy and doesnt take reservations, if you hang around long enough you can snag a table and once you have there isnt any hurry. The food comes quickly and piping hot and lloks and tastes like it really is a home cooked dinner, not one of those dodgy pre-prepared roast dinners so many pubs use. An excellent range of beers help the food go down and the staff are all very friendly. Worth a detour.Report this

The Carpenter's Arms is a great little pub just off Brick Lane. It has an amazingly friendly staff and a huge drink selection with lots of specialty drinks. It's very small but has several different rooms and some outdoor seating. The pub was recently refurbished and is very nice while still maintaining loads of character. It has a friendly, laid-back atmosphere with lots of regulars and a very lievely atmosphere on the weekends. It's a great location just off Brick Lane, but it's just hidden enough so as not to get overly packed by the crowds on Brick Lane. Great pub!Report this
