Chinese - Vegetarian - Vietnamese Takeaway & Restaurant...
Hoy-Sum Dao literally means 'happy bean' or 'seed of happiness'. Our philosophy is based on the principle that happiness begins with healthy eating. The humble soya bean seed has been consumed in the far east for thousands of years. Recognised for both their nutritional value and culinary versatility, soya beans can be made into milk, desserts and many forms of beancurd, it's taste can be enhanced with many ingredients to make delicious dishes. Our family has a tradition of making soya products and we pledge that our products are made fresh daily.
We hope you will enjoy eating our soya as much as we enjoy making it. We are confident it will grow on you. Please click onto our menu section to see the main menu and vegetarian menu.

The best meal ever!

I went here for my birthday and had the dumpling noodle soup. I can't even begin to describe how great the soup was. Ever since I ate the soup I've been trying to recreate it and failing miserably. The surroundings are very basic but it doesn't need to be swish as the food speaks for itself and at just over £50 for 6 of us, it was a real bargain! All I can say is if you're ever in Birmingham then go!Report this
a joy for the tastebuds

Im not the biggest Chinese food fan in the world. Usually Chinese restaurant food is a little thick and greasy for my liking(where we order from it is anyway)so i came to cafe soya with a bit of skeptism but i neednt have because the whole experience was a great one. Usually most places to eat are bit dull and the experience is nothing to shout home about but this place was different. The food was amazing, really fresh and light but filling. Just the way eastern food should be.The staff were charming and pleasant and the decoration was fairly unique. Overall I loved my time here!Report this

This place is ideally located next to the bars and clubs of the arcadian and has excellent decor and a brilliantly welcoming and clam atmosphere, i had a chicken papaya and vermicelli which was totally delicious, it really went down well and i even used chop sticks to eat the whole thing. The food was lovely and was cooked expertly, in fact the whole experience is one i hope to enjoy again soon, next time i am in birmingham city center. I recommend cafe soya to amyone who appreciates chinese food and like to eat in comfortable friendly surroundings. Well done to the staff and particular praise to vanessa the owner who made me feel really welcome. Im feeling hungry just talking about the restaurant and cant wait to visit again.Report this
