Nothing beautiful about the experience !

Born 2 Beauty Christchurch Following on from an impressive stand at the BIC Wedding show, I booked my wedding make up with Born2 Beauty. I booked in March for a trial at the end of November, for myself and my bridesmaid with the wedding on New Year’s Eve in Poole. All of these details were confirmed at the time of the booking. I arrived on Saturday for my trial at 10.00am and had walked out by 10.10am. I was appalled at the way my friend and I were made to feel on what was supposed to be a special experience in preparation for my Hen Do that evening. When we arrived the lady who was doing my makeup was stood in front of the mirror preening her, brushing her hair and applying her make up. She then asked me when my wedding was and I told her New Year’s Eve and I would require her to be at the hotel in Poole around 3.00pm if not 3.30pm. I was then advised that this SHOULD be ok? and asked the question, if could I make it earlier as they makeup they apply lasts all day and it was New Year’s Eve. To which I replied no, as I am getting married at 6pm and the timings were around that basis. Surely the company should work around the timings of the Brides wedding and not around the requirements of the makeup artist? By this point I was staring to seriously doubt my choice as I was made to feel that I was an inconvenience that my wedding was on New Year’s Eve. When I said I needed confirmation that the timings were ok before I went ahead with the trial, I was advised they needed to double check with the manager. At that point the manager arrives and proceeds to advise me that as the makeup artist does not drive and it is New Year’s Eve (as was the case in March when I booked) would I be able to contribute towards a taxi. That was the final straw. I have never had an experience as a paying customer like this. I told them to forget it and asked for the return of my £35.00 deposit which they refused on the basis that the makeup artist had to come in for the trial. I was appalled, but just wanted to get out of the salon so I left. On reflection I now feel that they were un-scrupulous and should never have taken the booking and my deposit in March of this year, if they had any reservations or concerns over the timings and location (all of which were made clear at the time) In summary, to any brides to be who are reading this review my advice would be to seek a professional make-up artist who will make you feel special and treat you as valued as a customer. Unlike awful experience I had at Born” Beauty in Christchurch.Report this
Excellent Staff, Service and Delivery

I've had a rare and remarkable experience with Born Beauty Boutique. I ordered some makeup from their online shop but had questions about which products would be best for me. The staff there were all very helpful. They called me and took the time to work with me to recommend the appropriate makeup. I was appreciative and very surprised about how quickly I received my products; and they were well packaged to boot! with a little red heart sticker on the package. (It's those little gestures and excellent customer service skill that make all the difference.) I will definitely be ordering from them again!Report this
