First time at Bodyworks and went for an intimate wax and eye brows too, i would like to comment on how friendly, professional and relaxed i was during my experience at the salon, i have waxing done often and my usual therapist was busy this particular time so thought id give it a go. I will defiantly be returning to the salon as the prices are very reasonable and excellent customer service skills always goes a long way, having an intimate wax its important to feel relaxed and unembarrassed which is what i felt, thank you ladies see you soon!!Report this

i have just returned from Bodyworks salon. I have been having various facial treatments for a few years now. I am always relaxed and comfatable during my time at the salon, as a male it can be a bit daunting going into a beauty salon. The therapist i see is always very happy to suggest new and alternative facials that may help improve my skin. i first went in with no idea what to do about my embarrassing bumpy sore skin, Holly suggested a steam and extraction facial which was brilliant for my black heads, today i tried Novita face peel and the results so far are very noticable. i highly recomend this salon for anyone who is looking for a welcoming, helpfull and relaxing experience.Report this

I have just had another relaxing facial done by Holly. over the last two years she has suggested and tried a few differant types of facials from steam and extraction facials and Novita peels. Both have given me the good results i have wanted. The new salon on devonshire avenue really adds to the quolity of the treatments, i always feel comfatable while i'm there, as a male going into a beauty salon it can be a bit daunting. i look forward to my next visit at the salonReport this
Spray tanning and waxing

I have been having treatments at bodyworks for the last 4 years and am always happy with the end result. Holly is the lady that does my treatments and shes always very friendly and professional. I have fake bake spray tans regularly which last longer than any other spray tans I've had in other salons! I also have my lip waxed every 5-6 weeks and the wax is always the perfect temperature and never too hot! If I ever have to wait for holly whilst she's finishing doing other peoples treatments it's only for around 2 minutes but there's always plenty of up to date magazines and relaxing music to listen to. I will continue to go to bodyworks as I always feel very welcome and I love the new salon!Report this

I felt i had to respond to the review below as most of it is untrue and that seems unfair. The client did come for an eyebrow shape and was seen within five minutes as her original therapist was running ten minutes late so another therapist took her straight in so she wouldnt have to wait. At no point during the treatment did she mention that the wax felt hot and her eyebrows didnt even go red, she left the salon with a thankyou and smile on her face. We didnt hear anything from her the same day. Gemma rang me the next day and said "i came in yesterday and youve burnt my eyebrows is there anything you can do about it?" I distinctly remember saying oh sorry to hear that yes do you want to come in and i will give you a tube of free aloe vera gel. to which she replied "no ive already got some" I then said ok but it does seem unusual as we ve done thousands of eyebrow shapes over the years and nobody as ever said we ve burnt them. I then asked her what her skincare routine was and she said she exfoliates her skin every day! I replied that your skin isnt designed to be exfoliated every day as its delicate and this would make it very sensitive to having an eyebrow wax so that might be why she reacted to the wax. I apologised AGAIN and said for her not to worry as her skin would heal soon and be fine. Gemma said "OK bye" and slammed the phone down. If she thought i was being condesending then thats unfortunate and i apolgise as i was actually trying to be helpful and give her an explanation to why it happened.Report this
Very bad experience

I attended the salon recently for an eyebrow wax ready before my holiday. When I arrived in the salon I was told I would be expected to wait ten minutes (after sitting in the waiting room for 5 minutes).. I wasn't particularly pleased as I had booked an appointment. I was given the treatment from a lady named Holly. She was friendly, however once I left the salon it became apparent that my eyebrows were more painful than usually. After looking in a mirror it was clear she had burnt with with the wax.. I was concerned the wax was too hot in the salon but was reassured. I was left with a nasty red burn about 3cm long under the arch of my brow. I was not best pleased as it was very painful and I was celebrating my partner's birthday that night. I rang the salon to address my issue and I spoke to Jodie (the salon director) she was VERY condascending, and rude. I explained to her that I work as a make-up artist and skincare consultant, and was 100% sure it wasn't dry skin. She was of no help at all and offered no apology whatsoever. I can defiantly say I will not be returning ever again.Report this
