Went for the 1st time this year sept 2012, always been very impressed however this time I had Tom yum soup with king prawns & the prawns were mouldy tasting and had black bits all over them I'm never one to complain however considering shell fish is dangerous I sent back! The main was nice & service ok but only 2 staff for a Friday & English not the best as we ordered fried rice & got noodles! Overall ok but won't be going again soon! Watch out for the prawns!

  2. Great Service and Great Food

Visited on the 15/12/2011 for a Company Xmas meal. Great service - The staff are very polite and helpful. They quickly adjusted our seating arrangements when we needed to add 2 extra people. They ensured that we all had drinks, but without pushing extra sales on us. The service was also quick and clean - given that we were a party of 13, I can imagine that this was no easy task. The restaurant itself is very clean, no dust, no dirt and spotless toilets. Now the best part; The Food. I'd never tried Thai food and (as a fussy eater) to say that I was worried about the choice would be an understatement. We ordered several platters between us and, although there wasn't as much as we expected, what we did get tasted amazing. This was followed by a fantastic main course. I cannot convey how much I enjoyed my dinning experience here and would recommend this place to anybody. Visited on the 15/12/2011 for a Company Xmas meal. The food here isn't bad at all, it really is the service that lets it down, the Thai ladies who serve cannot understand English at all, which at times made them feel quite stern and sharp with you, making everyone at the table a bit uncomfortable. I personaly made the mistake of asking advice on my meal choice, I may as well not bothered because I got exactly what I said I didnt want? That said everyone else in our party enjoyed the food. Getting the bill at the end of the meal wrote in Thai wasn't very good either, as we felt we wanted to check what we had been charged for, due to the waitresses bringing drinks over we had never orderd. As I say Poor service but not bad food

  1. Not good food, not good value.

We went to the Blue Chilli on a Saturday night with friends as part of a birthday meal. Having heard really good things about it we were looking forward to it. We went in and ordered some drinks as our table was not ready yet, the man and women behind the bar did not understand English so when I asked to pay for the drinks straight away instead of them being added onto the food as we were eating with friends so wanted to keep drinks separate they did not understand. Having looked at the menu they tried to advise if we ordered the set menu (£22.95 per person, minimum 2 persons) we would get our food faster than everyone else. I personally did not want anything off the set menu and at £22.95 each it did not appeal to me as I did not think it was worth it. I had the thai red curry and it was like soup, not even a thick soup, it was extremely watery and not very much meat. at all and swimming in fat. I had the pork and it was like thin sandwich pork roll that you can buy from the supermarket at 50p per pack! I was not impressed. Portion sizes considering how you much pay was also ridiculous, we went away feeling hungry and to me if you are having an expensive meal I do not want to go away feeling hungry! Overall I would not recommend the Blue Chilli and will not be returning.
