Finish your style with A-list shine!

Finish your style with A-list shine!

Tara SmithI’ve been in Abu Dhabi with my good friends, actresses Marisa Tomei and Neve Cambell for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.  The Grand Prix was an incredible experience; it was amazing to be part of the first ever Grand Prix held in Abu Dhabi.  Whilst we were visiting we attended a great Arabian night gala dinner, and I did the hair and make up for Marisa and Neve.

I blow dried Neve’s hair, then twisted it up at the back, similar to a French plait.  It’s so hot over there so we felt it best to keep her hair up and off her face.  Using my Base Coat Serum in her hair before blow-drying is essential to fight against the humidity – always use a base product to control frizz. I kept the front of her hair loose to soften the look.  A great way to add root lift and volume is to change the direction of the parting in her hair, which I did at the front.   To check Neve out on the Red carpet: http://tinyurl.com/yeo9v32

Marisa has got a fab thick head of hair, again I used my Base Coat Serum before blow-drying to lock in moisture and fight the humidity. Marisa is an avid fan of my serum and won’t use anything else.  After blow-drying I took the sides back very tight, this ensured her hair wasn’t heavy or falling onto her face.  When doing red carpet events when there is such high humidity it ‘s always a good idea to keep hair secured and off the face.  I backcombed the top part of her hair, similar to a Mohawk, but keeping it very glamorous.  I left her hair down at the back; with the long strapless dress she was wearing this was the best look.  To finish both styles I sprayed with my Top Coat Glosser; giving a gorgeous shine and delicious scent of organic sweet orange.

Being part of the whole experience in Abu Dhabi left me with adrenaline running through my body! We drove to Dubai and took a flight direct from the UAE to LA- such a long flight, 15 ½ hours!  I’m still catching up on my sleep and getting ready for an editorial photo shoot with celebrated photographer Deborah Anderson. She is an amazing photographer and a really good friend – we always have such a giggle working together.  We last worked together in London shooting Elton John for GQ magazine.   Looking forward to seeing her! Until next week… XX
