Tara Smith has been doing the hair for Trudie Styler
I have had a really crazy week in LA; I’ve been working with Trudie Styler and we decided to put in some hair extensions throughout her hair to increase thickness. I love using extensions for red carpet work, they’re so versatile and instant! We used wefts so I put a couple of cornrows through her hair to attach some Great Lengths hair extensions….
As her hair is coloured I washed it with my Feed the Root shampoo and conditioner for a hit of gloss. Trudie is a big fan of my Base Coat Serum which is full of vital nutrients - the main ingredient is Borage Oil. This is especially useful for her coloured hair to stop it from getting dry. After blow drying I ran Corioliss straighteners through her hair for a modern edge, and spritzed with my Top Coat Glosser to bring out the lovely blonde tones scattered throughout her hair.
I also had the pleasure of working with the delightful actress Courtney Cox Arquette last Friday, what a lovely lady with a beautiful head of hair! I used my Base Coat Serum and Top Coat Glosser again - they’re my kit-bag staples.
Whilst I was in California I took the weekend off to go and visit the Big Sur on the Californian coast. I have travelled the world several times over with my work, but I would confidently say this was the most breathtaking place I’ve ever seen. I also decided after 1 ½ years of living in Venice Beach that the time had come to try out surfing- I am now addicted, and what a great way to keep in shape!
I’m now running to catch a flight for the end of New York fashion week, then onto London on Monday for LFW.
Peace and love,
Tara x
