Brits are afraid to discipline their children
A new survey by Cadet150 has revealed that one in four parents do not discipline their child at all because they don’t want to come across as unfair or too strict.
Out of the 2,000 parents who were quizzed, three in ten admitted they were a "pushover", while over half said that they dish out less tellings off than their parents did.
”Discipline is all part of growing up and it’s important for children that they are taught the difference between right and wrong," says a spokesperson for Cadet150.
”Our survey suggests mums and dads tend to avoid ticking off their children because it’s easier than having to deal with them kicking up more of a fuss."
KidsHealth states that no matter what age your child is, it is important to remain consistent when it comes to discipline and advises that timeouts can be an effective punishment for troublesome toddlers.
