Tide Table Cafe in Richmond upon Thames. Last Saturday of every month the Tide Table hosts Jam Jar, an open mic night. It was like gatecrashing the friendliest party ever. Talented musical folk got up and did their spot. I especially liked Tim West's original song 'Don't kick your love away,(You'll regret it.) and Ted Humpheries unique vocals. I think they are local musicians. The food was not so good. Not a fan of overpriced nuked veggie stuff but the coffee was great as were the cakes. Brilliant free night out just for the price of a couple of drinks. I will be there next month for the bit of craic and great ambience. | Report this

Hiddeb Gem of Richmond - greedyannie (29/10/2009)

Tide Tables is an absolutely lovely place for lunch or snacks, particularly in summer when you can sit out by the river. The food is delicious and all vegetarian, and there is always a wide range of food and cakes to choose from. It can get quite busy, but the staff always seem to manage so the wait is not too long. So glad I found this place! | Report this

Lovely located cafe where you can sit & lose time - nip_and_nosh (26/10/2008)

Tide Tables is like a hidden treasure... in summer months, sit in the shade of the enormous trees and watch the river and all the strollers go by. You can come here alone to sit and people-watch, or to read a paper, or you come here with friends, family to catch up over a coffee or a light lunch.Food and drinks here are fuss-free.. All the food is displayed. You simply point to what you'd like, order your teas and coffees, and take your heated up paninis, quiches, pies, tarts, or cakes outside to any inviting table.. or pull up a chair right by the ledge overlooking the Thames. The coffee drinks are about average - but when it's a beautiful day on the Thames, it can feel like the best coffee you've ever had! The food also is nothing too stand-out.. I have had their spinach/cheese foccacia which was very bland... Better choices have been the vegetarian burrito and the feta/tomato/olive salad. Their indoor space is quite small, yet inviting. In winter time, it can be quite crammed on a Sunday - but it still can feel cozy. The co-ed toilets are a little awkward, but we'll say it's all part of the charm :)If you live in Richmond or are out in Richmond, this cafe should not be passed up. | Report this

Our favourite little cafe in Richmond! - jennipenni (04/04/2007)

This little cafe under Richmond bridge is vegan and has to serve the nicest snacky food in London. It is lovely to sit here and have lunch whilst watching the boats and barges sail by. We often sit here havig a beer and maybe a light snack, watching the people cycle and walk by.It is kiddy friendly, plenty of room for them to run about in the outdoor seated area. It is quite casual and laid back. Inside there is very little seating area, so if you are keen to eat here and the weather isnt good, berst to get there early to get one of the couches first!A good place to bring a newspaper or a book, and have a cuppa coffee with an oatmeal muffin or the like :)Their food is different and tasty, with an emphasis on vegetarian foodstuffs like chickpeas, falafels and vegetably-type foods, which is VERY yummy. The mugs of Italian coffee are big and hot. | Report this
