Varsity are a small group of bars popular with students, serving a variety of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails as well as a selection of English dishes. The decor is modern yet relaxing with several large tables to sit around and eat or drink.

    This is known as a student pub, with great offers on food and drinks!The offers are especially great if you have a V-card! 25% off drinks, and you receive a voucher booklet with vouchers worth up to £10 to spend on food and drinks in store! The V-card costs around £2, which can be bought from the bar, it's really worth buying it, as the discounts are prety good and you end up getting your money back!If you register the card on-line, you will also be able to receive additional discounts in places such as, blockbusters, domino's, play.com and express holiday inn!Varsity also has a free wireless facility, so it's another great place to do some home work!!!

    Chances are if you are a student at Durham, you will end up here at some point. This is a cheap student friendly pub with reasonable food. They are always happy to set aside an area for groups if you book in advance and will often supply free food if there are enough people going.
