    Wow, what a turn-around! It's still got pool and darts but now it's got real ales too. You can take your own food in which is genius! They've even sorted an outside area which it didn't have before. Welcome back!

    The Generous Briton is a bit of a "local" pub but is quite nice inside. the whole place could do with a refurb, but has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The is a good range of drinks and some proper ales, darts and pool table in the back room. If your on a budget or on the way into town from the university then you might stop here as prices aren't too bad but I wouldnt spend a night in there unless you are local, dont think a group of students would go down too well...nice place but i wouldnt go in a big group.

    Generous Britian is a well sized pub, nicely spaced out and has a pool table and a darts board. Its a decent place serving a good beer. They offer food although admittidly i have never tried it, i have only gone here for a quiet drink and thats what it is thre for, except on the odd occasion they start puting the music too high which really just does not suit the place. The place attracts a few students who begin at the generous britian and then make their way into the town but overall it attracts people a bit older (30+) and is also a place where you will see a lot of regulars.
