About us

Providing children with the best care and security in a fun, educational and loving framework, to encourage them to develop as individuals.

Within our safe and welcoming surroundings, situated in a quiet village just off the A5, your child can enjoy a wide range of experiences in a fun and learning environment. Facilities include not only an extensive Nursery itself but also a large garden of over an acre and a fully furnished room for the over three year olds, which is separate from the main house. The Owl room is used for the pre-schoolers, their own "little school", where they are free to express themselves and gain some independence. This provides for a more settling environment in the main house with its wide range of toys and games as well as a large outside area for play and discovery. At Mucky Pups children find their home from home, a place that they look forward to going to each day, to meet new friends and to discover their abilities - allowing them to become confident, independent and valued individuals.

  1. Mucky Pups Childcare Ltd

I would recommend Mucky Pups without a moment's hesitation. My son has thrived in it's comfortable and friendly home-away-from-home surroundings and has an obvious affection for his carers there. The staff are attentive, professional and always approachable, and seem to genuinely love what they do. Safety and security is taken very seriously and strong processes are in place to support those aims. The meals are wholesome, healthy and freshly prepared, and clearly very appealing to the young palate too, as my son apparently often asks for seconds! The daily report sent home with each child shows that every day is filled with a variety of fun and educational activity, which often tie in with the monthly theme, and which balance social interaction with self-exploration. The children are grouped with others of their own age, each group spending much of the time in their own familiar room, although everyone has meals together. There is plenty of opportunity for outdoor play in the lovely, spacious grounds, and the children all get involved in various projects such as growing vegetables. Each child also has as much quiet, restful time as they need.Mucky Pups really is a lovely community to be part of and I cannot speak highly enough of it.

Both my children attend Mucky Pups and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone. The setting is lovely. It's a spacious, clean and safe environment. The children are split into different rooms so that they are among their own age group which allows the staff to cater the activities to suit them. There is a huge garden with loads of outdoor things to keep the children occupied whilst getting some fresh air and exercise! The staff are friendly, approachable and very helpful. They get the children involved in a wide range of activies throughout each day. Often there will be a theme for the month or week and the activities will be as varied as arts and crafts type things through to dressing-up and stories. The children learn all sorts of things such as number and letter recognition whilst having fun which is excellent. The food is cooked freshly on the premises and there is a daily-changing menu that includes lots of healthy stuff. I've always been very impressed with Mucky Pups and my children love going there which I think speaks for itself!

Having used Mucky Pups for the last 4 years i wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone. Both of my children visit the nursery and always enjoy their day there. The new premises are great and allow for a lot of outdoor play. The staff are friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy looking after the kids.

  1. A 'Free Range' Nursery

    16/08/2011 by

I am so glad I decided to send my girls to Mucky Pups. It has such a lovely, homely atmosphere and there are alway lots of interesting and fun activities going on. There is a real feeling of being part of something special and the girls love going. The staff are wonderful and caring. As the staff turnover is so low the same person is taking care of my 18 month old as took care of my four year old when she was that age. The staff are very good at building the children's confidence and they are a really positive influence. The nursery building is lovely and really spacious, with a huge garden. It's so nice to see all the children running about having fun outside - it's a 'free range' nursery!Oh and the food is really good too! I would definitely recommend Mucky Pups.

  2. Perfect Child Care Solution

My daughter has been attending Mucky Pups 3 days a week since she was 10 months (now 26 months). They are an extremely personable nursery set in a home style environment, with home made food, which was important to us! The staff are exceptionally caring and attentive and we feel comfortable knowing that our daughter is getting the same level of care and attention she would at home. We strongly believe attending this nursery has assisted in her development and learning. I would happily recommend this nursery.

I have two children at Mucky Pups and have been using the nursery for 4 years. I have had a very positive experience and have never had cause to question my choice. The balance between learning and play seems to me to be just right and there is a strong emphasis on providing a caring, safe and friendly environment for the children.

  2. Fantastic, dedicated family run nursury! home from home for my baby daughter

    16/08/2011 by

My first daughter, Lilly-G is currently nearly 5 months into Mucky Pups. Going back to my career and putting her into the nursury at 6 months was a hard choice to make, especially with such a small baby, however, I have to say the staff and family feel at Mucky Pups made it so much easier. Now my daughter is like a part of the furniture and her confidence and the enjoyment she has is fantastic! It really is like a second home, but with lots more fun & activities and lots of friends. Keep up the good work Jodie, Paula & all the team. Special thanks to Liz & Jo in the baby room for making Lilly-G smile every day!
