Had my MOT done at Motest reading. Booked online. Car taken in on time and passed. Several advisories given & clearly explained, all things that I knew needed doing, no pressure to get them done there. Bargain for £39. As a female have elsewhere felt taken advantage of but not here. Had to write this as nearly cancelled after reading over reviews on here but went ahead as had already booked and so glad I did. The reason I thought I'd try Motest is because I don't trust my usual garage. Recommended, thanks Motest!

Quick and friendly service

I took my car for an mot at your reading branch. The man behind the counter said that it would take an hour and a half but I was called within an hour to say my car was ready. It passed and all they had to do was replace a bulb. The staff were very friendly and I will be using this branch from now on.

They Charge a lot and with Bad attitude on top

I went there to have my headlights changed, a lady in the reception told me that bulbs would each cost 4.50 and installation would be free. She asked me to drop in next day.I supplied my own bulbs and after 5 hours I got a call from reception saying that car is ready and the bill is £33/-.When I asked them they say it took 30 mins of labour to replace 2 headlights and the fat guy in the reception is with very bad attitude. He shouts at customer. It was very very bad experience, NOT AT ALL RECOMMONDED.

My experience with this garage was awful.(1) The guy at the reception with blue eyes got very bad attitude, he was very rude and not helpful at all with me. He did not show any availability to help me and to assist me. (2) They did a job for me and after a first estimation around 250 £, the final bill was 478 £.If you are looking for a polite and professionla service this is not the right place

Very Poor Customer Service

Unhelpful computer says? ?no" attitude. Customers are treated poorly, not only from my own experience but also whilst I was in the waiting room listening to the attitude of the staff on the front desk. The idea of an MOT drop in centre is great and could work well, unfortunately MOTest don?t have the staff to execute it. I would definitely advise against using them

I have used Motest for several years and have never had a problem, work is carried out to a high standard, booking an M.O.T is really easy using there website, you can see all the time slots available each day. The last time I used the Reading branch they fixed two faults with my car that most garages would have replaced some of the parts, but as they know what there doing they fixed the car and it has been fine since. They have always cofirmed pricing before carring out work and I have never felt pressured that the work must be carried out by them. Also M.O.T 's are free and you only pay once the car has passed how good is that! Would highly recommend.

This is the second time I have used them, and the second time I've had a problem. First time they just missed something that was obviously wrong with the car that I asked them to check.This time, I put my car in for a standard oil service, and when I got it back, the engine began to overheat immediately. There was now an air bubble in the engine coolant. They denied that they'd changed the water at all, but I'm not convinced.To be fair, they picked my car up from my house while I was at work, found the error and repaired it and drove my car back to my house. BUT, to add insult to injury, they then left the passenger window open about half an inch when they parked it, so it wasn't visible from the driver's seat but someone could've broken into my car!! And it was raining heavily all day.I'm never going to take my car back to these guys again - it could have been seriously damaged if it had overheated, and I don't want to even think about the cost of replacing an engine. The added cheek of it was they charged me a lot more for the service than they said they would, because of extra work they did, and they didn't call me before doing it! *Despite* what they claim on their website.All in all, VERY dodgy - avoid!
