    the maypole chinese restaurant is my all time favourite chinese restaurant, the food is always delicous and the service is amaing. the owner ken is such a nice welcoming man, he always knows what i like to eat which is great. i have tried going to other chinese reatuirants but i always find its not as good as the maypole. i'd definetly advise people to go as it would be a a night to remember :)

    I had never like chinese food before until I taste the Maypole chinese at Tiptree, I cant belive it s so special ; so, tasteful, eeven my children are love the food Ken(manager)suggested. I particular love the Crispy duck, Meaty honey ribs, spice squid, thai fried rice, and their way of cooking pak tsoi(veg). good value from money, excellent service that I never see anywhere else. Worth a try, u will love it.

    I cant find any where in UK can produced such a taste chinese and Thai food so far in the most affortable price.Althoguh my wife has been scared by the lively lobster and my kids were amusd to the moving crab . I personally enjoy the steamed cook scollope with spring onion and ginger.My dad is a bit old fashion, he love his sizzling Beef fillet in sake wine sauce in pekingese style. I cant believe they even can produced the freshly cut chinese brockery fromChina daily. thus cook in oyster sauce. The stir fried freshly squid and king prawn with garlic pepper and chilli is the most appetiseing dishes to me iot is spice but not hot at all. served from Ken s family and his beatiful wife , infact you cant feel the sort of hospitality in any where else. the decration is a bit out of day as in understand that the restaurant has been there for almost 14 years. I saw some one who is the director of a well known estate agent there whom seems regularly use the restaurant as his kitchen, whenever I eat in Maypole. so, you can rely his choice to give Maypole a try one day, if you fancy a chinese or real Thai cooking. but please dont mixed up with the Maypolem pub at colchester, they are real bad in service and quite bad food, in fact. espeacilly sandwiches is real bad taste. beer always have funny smell, strong in yeast, as i suggest they didnt clean their beer syster regulary. 10/07/11
