About us

GENUINE HORSEMEAT BURGERS Don't settle for the contaminated stuff being offered by Tesco, come in and try 100% horse. Burgers avail Fri & Sat lunchtimes and on the BBQ every even

In the 13th Century marauding Mongolian warriors would prepare their evening meal on their upturned shields over a campfire. They would slaughter whatever livestock were to hand and add a combination of vegetables, spices and aromatic oils to create a huge stir-fry. That’s exactly what happens at Khublai Khans – the stir-frying that is, not the slaughter.

After choosing a starter from an exotic selection, which includes kangaroo and wild boar (as well as more conventional offerings), you’re then free to create your own dishes, selecting from the likes of ostrich, springbok and zebra, as well as a wide selection of fresh vegetables, rice and noodles. You then complement your dish by creating your own sauce from a vast array of herbs, spices, sauces and aromatic oils. The chefs then subject your creation to a furious stir-fry on the huge open hotplate.

The best bit is that you can return to the barbecue as often as you like! Then finish with a fantastic home-made dessert!

Has the novelty factor in spades. You pick your own meat, things like shark etc, sauce and so and the chef will cook it right in front of youNot much else you can say about it apart from that

  1. Interesting dishes

Loved the decor, and the dishes were certainly different.Enjoyed the fact you could choose what you wanted, and they would cook it for you in front of you.Just make sure you're not too experimental or you'll end up with a clash of flavours!

Good for sheer novelty factor for the Mongolian BBQ element, but the food is not always the greatest, especially for the cost which can work out rather pricey.Recommended if going for a Pre-Theatre deal.

  3. A night out with a real difference

    11/09/2008 by

The Mongolians certainly know how to make good food! A visit to this wonderfully lively Mongolian restaurant will see you sampling exotic meats like zebra, shark or ostritch, and maybe even knocking back a few shots of true Mongolian vodka (ouch!) The food is all laid out in front of you á la buffet style, and cooked in a few seconds by a (rather intimidating!) Mongolian chef, on a huge griddle type table. Chuck in a few crispy vegetables and you have your own personalised dish. The food itself is always great - fresh, well seasoned and excellent quality. The staff are friendly and delighted to help you choose which dish suits you best. I was a bit hesitant to try meat that's probably been shipped halfway across the world, but it was surprisingly great, anyway! I'd definitely recommend this place for an extravagant night out.

  1. Amazing

This restaurant is amazing! A totally different experience in dining out! You pick the ingredients...they cook it for you! Plus...very surprising and different meats ..from the standard chicken to zebra! Not everyone's cup of tea..the more exotic..but since you choose..it's up to you! All the spices and herbs and vegetables are laid out too along with suggested recipes which you can choose to follow or not. You can also watch your food being cooked. A total experience..well worth the money... food is lovely, service is great..staff are friendly and helpful. We had daughter's 21st there and they couldn't have been nicer. Can't wait to go again!
